Dr. D'Elia is a professor and administrator at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. He has degrees from Middlebury College and the University of Georgia. He has authored or coauthored over sixty scientific publications on the nutrient dynamics of estuaries and coral reefs, and on science policy. | |
| Vice Chairperson | Lynn Smith Lynn Smith joined the Board of Directors for the Science Center in 2005. As a member of the Leadership St. Petersburg class of 2005, Lynn was an active member of the class project responsible for envisioning, designing and creating the current Science Center Wetlands area. Lynn and her husband Durke moved to Seminole from Michigan in 2003. Their daughter, son-in-law and two granddaughters live in Safety Harbor. |

Carol DeckerCarol Decker has been a part time instructor at the Science Center for 18 years. She previously taught secondary mathematics and science in the Lincoln (Nebraska) public schools and at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. She is married to Bob Decker. They have three married children and four grandchildren. Carol and Bob reside in North Redington Beach. | |
| Treasurer | David GreenDavid Green is a commercial loan underwriter/approval officer in Bank of Americas Global Corporate and Investment Banking Division. He has 30 years of banking experience and has been with Bank of America for the past 22 years. David is a graduate of the University of South Florida, Tampa where he received his BA Degree in Business Administration. |

Dr. Malcolm B. Butler is a science education faculty member at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. His career has included stints on the faculties of Texas A and M University-Corpus Christi (a Hispanic-serving institution) and the University of Georgia. He also worked as a mathematics and science education K-12 program specialist, and as an elementary, middle and high school mathematics and science teacher. Dr. Butler's research and teaching strategies have been presented in Japan, Chile, the Philippines, and Singapore. | Kay Daly has an extensive background in tourism development, facility management, human resources management, special event management, intergovernmental relations and economic development. She has held management positions with city of St. Petersburg, Florida Power (Progress Energy), Juvenile Welfare Board and Pinellas County government where she currently is manager of Special Event Sales for Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater the Convention and Visitors Bureau. |
| Mark Morse | Mike Gautreau is the News Director at Bay News 9, Tampa/St Petersburg's 24-hour local news channel. With more than 20 years in television news, Mike has also worked in the Dallas/Ft Worth, Oklahoma City, and Baton Rouge markets during his career. Before becoming a manager Mike was a reporter assigned to cover major news events including stories like Hurricane Andrew and the Oklahoma City bombing. He attended Louisiana State Universities Manship School of Journalism and now resides in Largo with his wife and daughter. |
Priscilla Miller earned a BS degree in Mathematics with a Chemistry Minor and a MBA from the University of Tampa. The bulk of Priscilla's career has been spent performing analyses in various laboratories ranging from conducting research with the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, to a phosphate production laboratory, to FDLE's Tampa Crime Lab and finally to Tampa Electric's Environmental Lab. As the Compliance Operations Manager for the NFSTC, Priscilla is responsible for compliance administration of federally funded programs with relevant codes and regulations, and program performance with agreed upon goals. Priscilla is a Florida native and enjoys old movies and classic literature. | Sally PoynterSally Poynter is a community service volunteer who serves on many boards in the city. She has served on the Science Center Board since 2000 and is also on the Executive Board. Sally is also a member of the Science Center Guild which raises money for the Center. |
Todd Trapp is NCS Florida Engineering Director with over 15 years of Program Management, Engineering, Operations and Business Development experience. His most recent assignments were as NCS Texas Operations Director, and Program Manager for Guided 2.75 Rocket Programs at Texas Instruments, which merged with Raytheon Systems Company in 1997. He joined Texas Instruments in May 1984 after graduation from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Todd served as Manager of Army Programs in Washington, D.C. from 1997-2000. In that capacity, he coordinated all domestic Army night vision marketing and program development activities at the corporate level. From 2000 to 2002, he served as Manager of Programs in Dallas, Texas. In that capacity, he managed the capture, execution, and production of Thermal Weapon Sight business for domestic and international customers. Prior to 1997, Todd held multiple program management and engineering positions involving advanced missile development and speech recognition. Todd and his wife, Rose, have three sons; Adam (11), John (9) and Peter (7). The boys enjoy baseball, and between that and spending time on the beach, the family is active and busy. They have settled in the Jungle Prada section of St. Petersburg. | |
| Guild | Connie Whitehead, volunteer fundraiser for the guild since Year 1992. Volunteers are asked to join the Guild where they, too, can "inspire, motivate and educate" students in the sciences and promote the Center.
